This is some vintage illustration artwork by Clare McKinley from my library of old books that I collect. This artwork is from a Book Clare made called Animal Parade from 1949.

If you would like to see more of the books that I've collected from resale shops over the years I also sell them in my eBay store to help support my podcast!

The book is actually like a small zine. It's about 4 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide and has a cardstock cover. There are other versions of the book that have a cardboard cover.

I was unable to find any more information about Clare McKinley except that this artist had made several books during this time period. All of them in a similar style.

The style of this artwork is just so vintage children's book and that is why I got it. It's hand-drawn and just so perfect.

You can buy some of the vintage illustrated books I have from my eBay store!

Free Music Archive: A talk about the future of music and art on the internet - Tom Ray's Art Podcast 210110

One of my favorite music sites is opening again, the Free Music Archive !  I talk with  Hessel van Oorschot from the Netherlands who's company Tribe of Noise bought the site after it was shut down a few years ago. We talk about his plans for the relaunch of this site. But we also talk about the future of art and music on the internet. How different organizations like Coil and Grant for the Web are trying to find ways to help creators, artists, and musicians build their work outside of an ad-based revenue model. This conversation isn't just for musicians it's a discussion about what the future of art on the web could be and what some of these organizations are trying right now. Finished an animated project.

I did the drawings in kind of an old black and white mystery monster movie.
