This is a quick snapshot of what I’m focused on right now.
If you’re new here: I run a few creative projects at once (music, comics, vintage reselling, and this site), so this page helps me remember what season I’m actually in.
Current priorities (next 1-3 months)
- Working on new music releases for my band Lorenzo’s Music and producing “making of” videos to show the songwriting process.
- Relaunching my ebooks after losing my Kindle publishing account earlier this year.
- Publishing more vlog-style updates.
- Managing and updating my websites as I actively use them.
Project status
- Lorenzo’s Music: I am currently focused on promoting new releases (our latest release is “Rain in purple frontiers”), producing “making of” content, and broadcasting our weekly studio livestreams.
- HomeMade Cartoons: I am planning on relaunching Book 2 of my diary comic Then This Happened… directly on my own site.
- The Pop Culture Roadshow: Still running my vintage reselling business, but video/site output is paused while I focus on music and cartoons. I may return to recording these videos after current projects are complete.
- This site (tomrayswebsite.com): Posting vlog updates about the different things I’m working on. Redesigns for the site are mostly finished but I’m continuing to make adjustments as I use it.
Weekly rhythm
- Vintage reselling: pack and ship vintage orders on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, plus listing new items twice a week on my eBay store.
- Music: evenings on Monday and Saturday.
- Band livestream: planning and outlining during the week, then live on Wednesday night.
- Band videos: record and edit walkthrough videos once per week.
- Podcast: release The Lorenzo’s Music Podcast every other Friday.
- Comics: draw diary comic most nights (about 20 minutes), then post to HomeMade Cartoons.
- Sourcing vintage inventory: estate sale hunting on Saturday afternoons.
What I’m trying to improve
- Make a real living from these creative projects.
- Play more public events.
- Reach more of the right audience.
- Connect and collaborate with more musicians and artists.
Not doing right now
- New Pop Culture Roadshow site features.
- Regular Roadshow video publishing.
Not forever. Just not right now while I focus the spotlight on music and cartoons.
