This is the quick snapshot of what I’m focused on right now.
If you’re new here: I run a few creative projects at once (music, comics, vintage reselling, and this site), so this page helps me remember what season I’m actually in.
Current priorities (next 1-3 months)
- Getting better at creating behind-the-scenes videos on my band’s Lorenzo’s Music YouTube channel.
- Self-hosting and creating spaces for my projects: Lorenzo’s Music and HomeMade Cartoons are now launched and active.
- Re-organize this personal site so it better documents my process.
- Publishing more vlog-style updates about how all this gets made behind the curtain.
Project status
- Lorenzo’s Music: redesigned, launched, and active. I’m focused on videos and livestreams.
- HomeMade Cartoons: relaunched and alive again. I’m actively posting my diary comic, Then This Happened…
- The Pop Culture Roadshow: still running as a business, but website/video output is paused while I focus on music and cartoons.
- This site (tomrayswebsite.com): redesigned and still evolving while I figure out exactly what role it should play.
Weekly rhythm
- Vintage reselling: pack and ship Monday, Wednesday, Friday (about 1 hour each), plus list new items twice a week (about 1 hour each session).
- Music: evenings on Monday and Saturday.
- Band livestream: planning and outlining during the week, then live on Wednesday night.
- Band videos: record and edit walkthrough videos two nights per week.
- Podcast: release The Lorenzo’s Music Podcast every other Friday.
- Comics: draw diary comic most nights (about 20 minutes), then post to HomeMade Cartoons.
- Sourcing vintage inventory: estate sale hunting on Saturday afternoons.
What I’m trying to improve
- Make a real living from these creative projects.
- Play more public events.
- Reach more of the right audience.
- Connect and collaborate with more musicians and artists.
Not doing right now
- New Roadshow site features.
- Regular Roadshow video publishing.
Not forever. Just not right now while I focus the spotlight on music and cartoons.
